Caring Ministries

Transitions

Transitions provides support in preparing for death (annual seminars on preparing a will, etc); celebrating the life of a loved one in a memorial service; and remembering the life of a loved one. YOU can be a recipient of this loving ministry in your time of need or be on the Transitions team to help others in their time of need.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a global program that trains lay persons to help the Pastoral Staff provide distinctively confidential, Christian, one-to-one care for anyone who is going through a difficult time and in need of support. YOU can apply to become a trained Stephen Minister or if youare coping with the loss of a loved one, illness of a family

Spiritual Caregivers

Spiritual Caregivers visit the homebound and ill and administer Communion to the homebound upon request.  YOU can be on this team or ask for a visit for yourself or someone you know.

Prayer Bear Ministry

Prayer Bear Ministry collects and prepares little stuffed teddy bears with a note of love and concern. Bears are in baskets outside the worship areas to be picked up by you or to give to someone needing “love and concern” in person or by mail. You can also participate in getting the bears ready to be given.

Prayer

Prayer-AnIntercessory Prayer Team meets on a regular basis to pray for the prayer requests from FUMC and the community.  In addition there is a group that prays just for cancer patients, an Email Prayer Ministry, and a Telephone Prayer Chain.  YOU can ask for prayers or be on one of the prayer teams.  Join the Prayer Team

Health and Welfare

Health and Welfare provides education and services for physical and mental health and welfare of the FUMC Family. YOUcan participate in the services and programs or help in providing them.
