C.R.O.S.’ Day Camp programs for underprivileged and at-risk kids were held this year in Delray Beach, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach and Belle Glade. Each day of camp had a time for Bible stories and activities, crafts, educational activities, and outdoor fun.
Camp Outreach, held August 6-10 just outside Clewiston, was another wonderful opportunity for campers to grow closer to God. 32 campers enjoyed acted-out Bible stories, small group discussions on the daily Bible lesson, and activities such as swimming, photography nature walks, fishing and foursquare games. There was even a roller derby and a campfire to cook smores!
Capping each evening was a rousing praise time and message. The topics of the week were: I am Chosen, I am Forgiven, I Can Call on God for Help, and God is My Biggest Fan.
By Friday afternoon, when the camp was over, new relationships had been forged, and one little boy asked if we could hold camp for 3 weeks next year!
Many thanks for all you have done to help make these camps possible. Please pray that the campers will carry God’s Spirit with them as they return to their home environments, some of which are not pleasant, and that they will grow in grace. Check the C.R.O.S. bulletin boards on both campuses for more photos!
CROS WALK: This year’s CROS Walk will be on October 14th along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. Watch your bulletin for details, and please visit our pledge/walker signup tables on each campus starting in September!
